The Day's Summary

Tennessee baseball shifted the emphasis of its fall work on Wednesday, holding what On3 described as a situational intrasquad scrimmage on Oct. 28, with notes emerging from the workout. The format marked a change of pace from the standard scrimmage dates that have filled the autumn schedule.

Situational work is the teaching side of fall ball. Rather than simply playing innings through, the staff drills set pieces and specific game moments live — the kind of details that get sharpened now, with roles for the spring still on the line.
