Preview: No. 9 Tennessee and No. 22 Vanderbilt meet in ranked showdown

A ranked rivalry matchup is on deck for Tennessee's women's volleyball team, as the No. 9 Lady Vols prepare to face No. 22 Vanderbilt.

The meeting brings together two nationally ranked programs and the added edge that always accompanies a Tennessee-Vanderbilt contest. With both teams carrying national rankings into the match, the result figures to matter for the standings, for seeding discussions, and for in-state bragging rights.

For the Lady Vols, the match offers another chance to defend their top-ten status against quality opposition. For Vanderbilt, it is an opportunity to claim a statement win over a higher-ranked rival, which sets up a contest with plenty at stake on both sides of the net.
