DeWayne Brown II Passes Along the Barnes Message Tennessee Must Take to Heart

DeWayne Brown II has shared a message from Rick Barnes that he believes Tennessee basketball must take to heart, according to Sports Illustrated, offering a player's view of what the head coach is demanding from this team.

When a player repeats his coach's message publicly, it usually means the point has been emphasized inside the program. Brown passing it along suggests the theme is one Barnes returns to as the Volunteers prepare for the season.

Whether Tennessee actually takes the message to heart will show in how the team plays, particularly in the effort and consistency areas Barnes stresses most. Brown's comments give fans the standard to measure the early games against.
