Barnes addressed the media following Tennessee's defeat at Duke

Rick Barnes spoke with reporters after Tennessee's loss at Duke in exhibition play, offering his assessment of his team's performance. Postgame comments from a head coach after a game like this typically set the tone for how the program intends to respond to a disappointing result.

For Tennessee, the loss itself matters less than what follows from it. Barnes's remarks after the Duke game form part of the record of how the Volunteers evaluated the performance and what they intended to correct before the regular season begins.
