Vols Look for Clear Progress in Exhibition Trip to Duke

Tennessee's exhibition at Duke is being framed as a test of growth for the Volunteers, according to a report from On3. An exhibition carries no standings consequence, but a road setting against Duke gives Rick Barnes and his team a demanding early measuring stick before the regular season counts.

The emphasis in the On3 report is on showing progress, rather than simply on a final score. For a Tennessee men's team building toward the season, an outing like this offers a chance to test lineups, execution, and composure away from home against high-level competition.

What the Vols show at Duke will help indicate how far they have come in their preparation and what still needs work. Performances in an exhibition of this kind often inform coaching decisions about rotations and priorities as Tennessee turns toward its regular-season schedule.
