Tennessee Player Earns Preseason All-SEC Honor From the Coaches

A Tennessee basketball standout has earned a preseason All-SEC nod from the league's coaches, according to the report. The honor places a Vol among the players SEC coaches expect to shape the conference race this season, though the available material does not name the player.

Preseason honors from coaches carry a particular credibility, because they come from the staffs that will have to game-plan against Tennessee. Recognition at that level signals respect for both the player's ability and his expected role on a highly regarded Vols team.

For Tennessee, the nod adds to the expectations surrounding Rick Barnes' squad entering the season. The original report names the honoree and the team he was placed on, and the Vols will look for that kind of production once conference play arrives.
