One question about this Tennessee team that Barnes cannot yet answer

There is one question Rick Barnes cannot answer about this Tennessee team, according to an On3 report examining the uncertainty hanging over the Volunteers. The piece is built around a gap in what the head coach himself can know at this stage, even after a preseason spent evaluating his roster.

The available summary does not state what the question is, so it cannot be identified here. What the report conveys is that, for all Barnes' experience, some part of this team's identity or capability remains unresolved heading toward the season.

Questions like that are usually answered only by real games. Tennessee will learn what Barnes cannot yet say once the regular season tests the Vols, and the answer will go a long way toward defining how far this team can go.
