Vols Wire updates SEC power rankings following Week 9 of the 2026 season

Vols Wire has published a fresh set of SEC football power rankings now that Week 9 of the 2026 season is complete, offering an updated look at how the conference's teams stack up against one another at this stage of the year.

Power rankings published this deep into a season reflect the body of work teams have put together so far, rather than a single result, and they give Tennessee supporters a way to gauge where the Volunteers sit in the wider conference picture as the schedule moves into its later weeks.

For Tennessee, the value of an update like this is comparative. It frames the remaining stretch of the season against the rest of the SEC, without changing anything on the field — the rankings are an assessment, and the original piece carries the full ordering for readers who want to see every team's placement.
