Overlooked Recruits Now Starring: A Top-10 Look at This Season's Breakouts

Some of this season's most productive college football players arrived on campus with almost no recruiting attention, and a new On3 ranking focuses on exactly that group. The list counts down the top 10 so-called recruiting nobodies who have moved from the shadows into the spotlight this season.

The premise is a familiar reminder of how imperfect recruiting evaluations can be. Players who were largely overlooked coming out of high school have developed into starters and standouts, outperforming far more celebrated recruits and becoming central figures for their teams.

For Tennessee fans, the list is worth a look as a measure of player development across the sport. It highlights the kind of under-the-radar prospects every program, including the Vols, hopes to find and develop, even if the biggest recruiting wins tend to dominate the headlines in February and December.
