Tennessee's Halloween Games Have Delivered Both Tricks and Treats

Tennessee football games played around Halloween have produced very different kinds of memories over the years, according to a Knoxville News Sentinel opinion piece looking back at that history. Some of those outings turned out sweet for the Vols, while others proved far more frightening for the team and its fans.

The piece frames those Halloween results as a mixed record rather than a simple pattern. For Tennessee supporters, that means the holiday has at times brought a satisfying outcome and at other times a result they would rather forget.

As another Halloween approaches on the football calendar, the look back serves as a reminder that games played on or near the holiday have not consistently favored Tennessee. The Vols' history around Oct. 31 includes both kinds of results, leaving the outcome of any future Halloween matchup an open question.
