Tennessee Hosts In-State 2030 Standout Braylen Mathis, Who Shares His Takeaways

Tennessee's recruiting reach extends well beyond the current cycle, and this week it was a member of the 2030 class getting the tour. In-state standout Braylen Mathis visited Tennessee and afterward broke down what he saw on the trip.

A 2030 prospect is years from signing anything, so a visit at this stage is about introductions — the campus, the facilities, the coaching staff, and a first sense of what the program feels like from the inside. For an in-state player, it is also Tennessee planting its flag early with a homegrown talent.

Mathis's own recap of the visit gives the Vols an early read on where they stand. Keeping in-state standouts connected to Knoxville from the very start is how programs avoid having to chase their own backyard later.
