Jim Knowles and the balancing act behind Tennessee's dominant defense

Tennessee's defense under Jim Knowles has been dominant, and a Knoxville News Sentinel examination looks inside how that unit works. The piece describes it as a delicate dance, pointing to the balance involved in producing that level of defensive play.

Knowles' defense is the focus of the examination, which explores what goes on behind a unit that has performed at that standard for the Volunteers. The story is presented as an inside look rather than a recap of a single game.

For Tennessee, the continued strength of Knowles' defense matters because it has become a defining part of the team. The full examination is available from the Knoxville News Sentinel at the original link.
