Heupel Talks Kentucky as Tennessee Turns to Its Next SEC Test

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel has previewed the Volunteers' upcoming matchup with Kentucky, addressing the media as his team prepares for the Wildcats. Sports Illustrated collected the full set of his remarks from the session, gathering everything the coach said in one place ahead of the game.

The preview appearance is the standard checkpoint in Tennessee's game-week routine, when Heupel lays out his view of the opponent and where his team stands before another Southeastern Conference contest. Kentucky is a familiar annual opponent for the Volunteers, and the matchup carries the usual weight in the conference race and in the longer border rivalry between the programs.

For Tennessee, the value of the session is in the tone it sets for the week. Heupel's comments frame the preparation that follows in practice, and they give a first indication of how the Volunteers intend to approach Kentucky when the teams meet.
