No. 11 Tennessee Visits South Carolina With Playoff Push on the Line

Tennessee takes its College Football Playoff push on the road Saturday afternoon, facing South Carolina at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia in a 3:30 p.m. Eastern kickoff on ESPN. The game will also stream on ESPN+ and air on the Vol Network, with Wes Durham, Dusty Dvoracek and Taylor McGregor on the television call.

The Volunteers arrive at 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the SEC after a 26-10 win over Alabama last week. That result lifted Tennessee three spots to No. 11 in both the Associated Press Top 25 and the Coaches Poll on Sunday and pushed the Vols into the playoff conversation, with projections this week placing them anywhere from a No. 6 to a No. 10 seed. South Carolina is 3-3 and 1-3 in league play and is coming off a bye week.

The Gamecocks' most recent outing was an upset, a 38-19 win at then-No. 16 Florida on Oct. 10 in Gainesville, where quarterback LaNorris Sellers accounted for 299 total yards and five total touchdowns. For the season, Sellers has completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns against four interceptions, and he is also the team's second-leading rusher with 411 yards and two scores on the ground. South Carolina had lost three straight before beating Florida, including an overtime home loss to Kentucky after leading 17-0, and defeats at Alabama and at home against Mississippi State.

Tennessee leads the all-time series 27-11-2 dating back to 1903 and has won four of the last five meetings since 2019. The teams have not met since 2023, when Tennessee won 41-20 at Neyland Stadium, while South Carolina won 63-38 in the last meeting in Columbia in 2022. After Saturday, Tennessee has a bye next week before closing the regular season in November with home games against Kentucky and LSU and road trips to Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.
