Tennessee beats Georgia and Alabama for three-star cornerback Preston Glasco

Preston Glasco has committed to Tennessee, choosing the Volunteers over Georgia and Alabama. The three-star cornerback gave Tennessee a recruiting win against two of the Southeastern Conference programs it competes with most directly for defensive talent.

For Tennessee, the decision adds a cornerback to its future secondary and carries added weight because of the other programs involved. Beating Georgia and Alabama for the same defensive back is the kind of head-to-head result the Volunteers need as they continue building depth in the defensive backfield.

Glasco's choice is also a sign that Tennessee made its case successfully when the competition included two established conference powers. How he develops once he reaches Knoxville will determine the longer-term impact, but the commitment itself is a clear win for the Volunteers on the recruiting trail.
