Week 7 Check-In: How the Teams on Tennessee's Schedule Performed

The Daily Beacon has published its Week 7 rival report, a roundup of how Tennessee football's opponents fared over the weekend. The piece looks beyond the Volunteers' own result to track the teams Tennessee has faced or still has ahead on the schedule.

Results elsewhere matter for Tennessee because they shape how the schedule is judged as the season moves along. Strong showings by opponents can add weight to wins already banked and raise the stakes of games still to come, while losses by those same teams can change the picture around upcoming matchups.

For Tennessee, the Week 7 check-in serves as a snapshot of the landscape around the program at the midpoint stretch of the season. It offers a way to measure the Volunteers against the broader field they are competing in, based on what their opponents did that week.
