Titans Coach Robert Saleh Defends Jordan Elliott After Release Following Practice Incident

Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh spoke publicly on Wednesday in support of defensive lineman Jordan Elliott, a day after reports emerged that Elliott had been released following a serious incident at the team practice facility on October 15.

According to the reports described in the story, Elliott became involved in a heated altercation with offensive tackle JC Latham and was removed from practice. He then reportedly left the facility, retrieved a gun from his car, and was talked down by defensive tackle John Franklin-Meyers before the situation escalated further. The episode ended Elliott's time with the Titans, where he had been part of the defensive line rotation.

Saleh characterized what happened as a severe lapse in judgment rather than a criminal act, and described it as a call for help. He also made a direct appeal to the rest of the league, saying any team in need of a strong run-stopping defensive tackle for a playoff push should contact him, and that he would vouch for Elliott as a person despite how his tenure in Tennessee ended.

Elliott entered the NFL as a third-round pick by Cleveland in 2020 out of Missouri, spent four seasons with the Browns, and played for San Francisco in 2024 and 2025. He joined Tennessee this past offseason on a two-year, $8 million deal. Saleh's comments make clear the coach still holds him in high regard and hopes to help the veteran find another opportunity.
