South Carolina lineman Carter Miller cleared to play in final availability update before Tennessee

South Carolina will have offensive lineman Carter Miller available when it hosts Tennessee on Saturday, according to the pregame SEC Availability Report. Miller had moved from questionable to probable on Friday night, and the final update confirmed he is cleared to play, giving the Gamecocks a boost up front for the matchup at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

The rest of South Carolina's update went the other way. Running back Jawarn Howell, who was added to the report on Thursday and listed as doubtful on Friday, is now out, as is defensive back Quay'Sheed Scott, who was downgraded to out on Friday. Howell has carried the ball 18 times this season. Also out for the Gamecocks are wide receiver Jayden Sellers, linebacker Kobby Sakyi-Prah, and offensive linemen Josiah Thompson and Seth Smith.

Tennessee's side of the report brought no new names. The Vols listed only the seven players already lost for the season: offensive lineman Wendell Moe, safety Dylan Lewis, cornerback Jadais Richard, linebacker Jaedon Harmon, tight end Ethan Davis, safety Edrees Farooq, and wide receiver Joakim Dodson. Moe was the most recent of those losses, suffering a lower-body injury against Texas, while Davis tore an ACL at Georgia Tech on September 12 and Dodson hurt a knee in the season opener against Furman.

No. 11 Tennessee comes in at 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the SEC, while South Carolina is 3-3 and 1-3 in league play. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. Eastern on ESPN. With Tennessee's availability picture unchanged all week, the late movement belonged entirely to South Carolina, and Miller's return is the one piece of good news in it for the home team.
