Tennessee lands defensive back commitment over Alabama and Georgia

Tennessee has secured a commitment from a defensive back recruit, according to a report from Rocky Top Insider. The Vols won out over Alabama and Georgia for the player's commitment, prevailing against two familiar rivals in a contested recruiting battle.

That Alabama and Georgia were both involved underlines how competitive the recruitment was. Tennessee still came out on top, adding a defensive back to its future plans after beating out those two programs for his pledge.

For Tennessee, the commitment is a recruiting win with added weight because of the programs it beat. Landing a defensive back wanted by Alabama and Georgia strengthens the Vols' efforts in the secondary and gives them momentum from a head-to-head victory on the recruiting trail.
