Linebacker Arion Carter is a finalist for the award called the Academic Heisman

Tennessee linebacker Arion Carter has been named a finalist for the honor described in a Yahoo Sports headline as the Academic Heisman. The recognition places Carter among the final candidates for a national award that carries that nickname.

The material available for this report does not list the other finalists or the criteria and timeline for selecting a winner, so those details are not stated here. The headline identifies Carter by position and team and presents the finalist selection itself as the news.

For Tennessee, Carter's finalist status is a notable individual honor for a Volunteers linebacker and a point of recognition for the program during the season.
