Wide Receiver Commit Dayon Cooper Was in the Stands for Tennessee's Rout of Alabama

Tennessee wide receiver commit Dayon Cooper picked quite a weekend to be in Knoxville. Cooper was in attendance as the Vols dismantled Alabama, watching the program he has pledged to beat its biggest rival in person.

Visits like this are the quiet currency of recruiting. A commit can watch a game from anywhere, but being inside Neyland Stadium for a Third Saturday in October win — the noise, the stakes, the celebration — gives him a firsthand picture of the stage he is signing up to play on.

For Tennessee, having a future receiver on hand for a marquee win does the reinforcing on its own. Cooper's commitment was already in place; experiencing the Alabama game from the stands is the kind of memory that makes a pledge harder for other programs to shake loose.
