Tennessee Erases the Only Downside of Its Alabama Win, With Help From South Carolina

Tennessee has wiped away the only drawback that had been attached to its win over Alabama, and it did so thanks to South Carolina.

That clears the one lingering negative from an otherwise important result for the Volunteers. Instead of the Alabama win carrying a caveat, it can now stand on its own merits, with South Carolina's part in the development helping remove the stain.

For Tennessee, that is a cleaner picture going forward. A win over Alabama needs no added qualification, and removing its sole drawback strengthens how that result can be viewed as the Volunteers move ahead.
