Tennessee and Kentucky in the Week 10 Coaches Poll top 25 picture

The Week 10 US LBM Coaches Poll is out, and Vols Wire has laid out where Tennessee and Kentucky sit in the top 25 picture. The poll arrives in the same week the two teams meet, which gives the rankings an immediate, practical edge beyond the usual Sunday debate.

Coaches Poll ballots reflect how coaching staffs around the country rate the field, and a top 25 position heading into a conference game colors everything from national perception to the stakes attached to the result. For Tennessee, the ranking noted in the poll is the standing it defends against Kentucky; for Kentucky, it is part of the backdrop to its own chance to change its position.

The specific places for both teams are detailed in the original Vols Wire story linked below. Whatever the numbers, the game between them will render its own verdict and feed directly into next week's poll.
