Tennessee stays in the race for the country's leading running back recruit

Tennessee has made the top schools list for the nation's top running back, according to a Sports Illustrated report. The inclusion means the Volunteers remain among the programs still being considered by the highly regarded prospect, whose name was not provided in the available report.

For Tennessee, staying in contention at this stage keeps the program in the conversation for one of the most prominent recruits at the position. A place on a trimmed list does not settle a recruitment, but it does confirm that the Volunteers are still in the mix as the process moves forward.

The next step will be whether Tennessee can remain on that list as the recruit narrows his choices further. For now, the news is simply that the Volunteers are still in pursuit and still being considered.
