Insider pushes back on speculation over Tennessee quarterback situation before South Carolina

Speculation about Tennessee's quarterback situation has been growing ahead of the Volunteers' game against South Carolina, and a Vols insider has now addressed it directly. In comments reported by A to Z Sports, the insider responded to the talk with a clear qualifier, saying that is not the case to this point.

The remark does not end the conversation entirely, since the wording leaves room for how things develop, but it does push back against the idea that the speculation reflects where things currently stand. For Tennessee, the timing matters, with the South Carolina game approaching and attention on the position intensifying.

For now, the takeaway for Tennessee fans is restraint. An insider familiar with the situation has publicly tempered the rumors rather than confirming them, and any firmer answer will have to come from what the Volunteers actually do as the South Carolina matchup arrives.
