Kentucky at Tennessee Lands on List of Week 10's Biggest Games

The upcoming college football slate is being billed as one of the season's most consequential, with six meetings between ranked teams and four of those coming inside the Southeastern Conference. The schedule follows another weekend of upheaval, capped by Ohio State losing to an unranked USC team, a result noted as the fourth straight week in which a team ranked in the AP top two fell to an unranked opponent.

At the top of the list is Miami's trip to Notre Dame in South Bend on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Unbeaten Miami, ranked No. 1, faces No. 4 Notre Dame, which is 7-1 and needs a victory to feel more secure about its playoff position. The other marquee nonconference matchup sends No. 7 BYU to No. 3 Utah at noon ET on ABC, with Utah alone in first place in the Big 12 and BYU trying to keep pace near the top.

The SEC portion is headlined by No. 9 Alabama visiting No. 15 LSU in Baton Rouge at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC, a game framed as close to a playoff elimination contest for two teams already carrying two losses. Later, No. 2 Georgia plays at No. 12 Ole Miss at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, renewing a series that produced two one-score games last season and could further scramble the conference standings.

Kentucky at Tennessee was placed fifth on the list. The Wildcats and Volunteers both had the past weekend off, and they meet Saturday at 6:15 p.m. ET on ESPN in Knoxville. Kentucky is 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the SEC, tied with Georgia for first place, while Tennessee is 6-2 and 3-2 in league play after losing its most recent game on the road. The Volunteers return home leaning on their defense and running game, with a chance to climb back into the race against a Kentucky team facing ranked road tests in the weeks ahead.
