Tennessee fans reassess Josh Heupel and the Vols following the bye week

Tennessee fans are viewing Josh Heupel and the Volunteers differently after the bye week, according to A to Z Sports, with the break prompting a noticeable shift in how the program is being judged.

A bye week often gives supporters time to step back from the week-to-week swings of a season and take stock of the bigger picture. For Tennessee, that pause appears to have changed the conversation around Heupel and the direction of the team, rather than simply carrying the mood of the most recent game forward.

What that revised outlook means going forward will be tested once the Vols return to play. For now, the story points to a fan base that has used the time off to reassess its expectations for Heupel and for Tennessee for the remainder of the season.
