Heupel Addresses Tennessee's Penalty and Discipline Issues

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel has addressed the team's penalties and discipline, in comments reported by the Knoxville News Sentinel. The remarks put the focus on an area that has drawn attention for the Volunteers, with Heupel speaking directly to how the program is handling those concerns.

Penalties and discipline are recurring points of emphasis for any team, because they affect field position, drive continuity, and momentum over the course of a game. For Tennessee, Heupel's comments signal that the coaching staff is treating the issue as a priority rather than leaving it to correct itself.

How the Volunteers respond will be measured on the field in the weeks ahead, where cleaner execution would be the clearest sign that the message is taking hold.
